Becoming a Crystallographer

This is the blog of a future crystallographer, not that crystallography is the main area of discussion. I'll maybe mention it once in a while, while writing about my life and other things.

Open invitation

I'd like to invite all readers to come and visit me here in Germany. Any time is good for me. I have 10 days of vacation I can take at any time and I have no plans for the weekends for the rest of the year. I can house 2 people, who like each other, on the floor and then in case of emergency or other good reasons 1 person, whom I like, next to me. (Vegetarian breakfast included. Now also with coffee.) There's lovely sights only 30min by train right near here in all directions and right in this city. Whether you are interested in medieval churches, towns and castles, wines, partying, romantic walks on the Rhein (romantic company not included), pretzels, me, bratwurts, shopping or beer, they can all be found here and lots more. Book now and you'll get your tickets cheaper. Just fly to Frankfurt and take a 30min train ride from there and I'll come to pick you up from the station.

Welcome, welcome.

Gotta take you up on that invitation! ;) After all it's my job by birth to bother you whenever possible. Last time I was over there it was a boychoir trip from church to church so it wasn't really 'there' - as we could have been going up and fourth in a bus in lapland for all I saw (sleeping+singing+sleeping).

On schedule - can't really say. It'll take me at least 2 weeks more to finish THE Kitchen (it's orange and black with a bit of beige/tan/peach sort of thingy on one wall). When that's done I hope to have my car done as well (the jeep) and THEN if my dear wife has a few days off in the right place she could come as well.

But it's completely doable, I'll bug you on the details maybe next month.

Today - quite anxious, going to studio to sing for the whole day (as i get off work around 13:00). New songs are punkrock (not that billy thingy we did earlier). But i'm rambling (love that word) again. Have a great day!

I reserve one week in the beginning of october. All depending on how quickly I now get my thesis done. So I have a contract till like the 5th of october I think. If I don't get it done before then, I'll just come and visit from then on. Otherwise I would just take the week before that off and come while they are paying me to write. this in case I've already written everything. ;) So in a few weeks time I will know, since I will at last have all my drop size pictures analyzed.

Oh, gotta go. bus leaving. later.

anonymous: It costs anywhere from 50 to 300 eur I think. (Ryanair cheapest one way 19.99+some tax I guess and from kilroy from 200 to 300 mostly.) With Ryanair you have to leave from Tampere and get to a different airport in Frankfurt also. But there should be a bus from there straight to here. The train from Frankfurt to here costs 20 eur one way. So it's expensive yeah but worth it maybe. (No quarantees)
