Never say never
I did the last student labs for my Master's thesis with a friend of mine. It was quite nice really. We did organic synthesis and I even got all of them done well enough on the first go. My friend wasn't so lucky. But all in all, even though it was fun at times, once we got them done we were way happy. I think we went for coffee and even bought something sweet to eat. I don't really remember that well but the celebration was all about never having to do organic synthesis again (we were inorganic/analytical chemists, you see). I should have known better. Never say never, what ever you do.
See what I've been up to for the past week is just that, organic synthesis. Since I'm doing another major on organic chemistry I have to. And just to demonstrate fate decided that I not get enough product right in the first synthesis. So now I have to do three days of work again. But I wasn't very surprised or anything so I'm not like that annoyed or depressed or mad about it. It had been like two years since my last synthesis and it took a while to get used to the lab again. Now I think I remember how to do stuff in there and it should all work out. And after all, I now am getting paid to do the work. And I have to say that I am feeling sort of "above it all" in the lab. I like being busy at work and being in the lab is being busy. The only problem is that I have to wake up a bit earlier and actually be at work at eight, but that's really only a good thing in the long run.
All in all things are good. I have a few weekend trips coming up. Seeing family mostly. The only problem will probably be that my flat will not get vacuumed in a month and the fish might not get their water changes once a week like they're supposed to. But don't worry about the fish as cleaning their home is more important than cleaning mine and it will get done.
