Becoming a Crystallographer

This is the blog of a future crystallographer, not that crystallography is the main area of discussion. I'll maybe mention it once in a while, while writing about my life and other things.

Biking and food

I had quite a nice weekend. No parties. On Saturday we were supposed to fix a bike for me to take to the biketour and to be able to keep as a loan from my boss but the new pieces for it were wrong so no luck there. Later on I got to do some baking though. It was nice. I wish I had an oven. Sunday was the biketour. I got up at seven and at nine we were on our way. We decided to only do the 50km route which was a good idea. We ended up biking 63km with a miximun speed of 43km/h (cool downhill :D) and probably an average speed of 20km/h. The bicycle I took wasn't that fast but it was better than the company bikes. I even got to try my bosses new very good bike which made me want to get a new bike myself. Oh but it was really nice biking for such a long time. I got tired at times but then I just kept going. The whole trip took like 4 hours. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday. For the rest of the day I got to just lounge out at home knowing I'd already done something that day. I want to go again but I want to have a good bike for it. Apparently bikes are less expensive here. I am really thinking buying one though I don't really "need" a new bike and buying an expensive one might just get it stolen, especially here. And then again I don't know what kind of bike I want and so on.

Maybe it's smart saving money so I can have my lovely "I can buy all the cheese I want and bake every day if I want to no matter what the cakes and such end up costing" -life when I come back. Yeah.

So I might be hungry right now. Food, food, food. I feel like talking about food. What should I eat today. I'd like to go out to eat but there's no one to go with. No one likes food like I do. Weird people. Must go home to eat.

Smart move on the 63k instead of 100k ;) Just wondering, don't u have a bike over here? I could bring it up to you when we get a chance to visit? We're propably coming with my car (yes, the pickup truck has room).

Food is always a good subject, and (sorry sis, fact of life) I'm pretty sure I like it more than you. At least you keep such a skinny look, I'm guessing I've got more experience on the matter. ;-) Ate a healthy breakfast this morning, french baguettes and that sort of thing - really a luxury to me since it's the first morning I've had a working oven in the new kitchen. Took 2 months, but definately worth it. :P

ps. Me correcting grammar, not likely but still think it's cycling (and biking is the motorversion of the same subject). ;) Although might just be my twisted view of the subject... Have a great day!

Cool that you could actually ride that far... :)
Having bad equipment is a sad turn off from actually exercising (I don't think I can spell anymore). I mean I haven't inline skated much for ages cause my skates are not that good on my feet. So, I think you should either take A-V up on his offer or just buy a bike. I thought you were thinking fo buying one anyway. Or getting one as a graduation present.
I just counted something very scary today... I circled aroung 120000 drops while I did my picture analysis. And I was wondering why I was losing my mind... no more.
I should really write in my own blog and not yours.
We are getting DVDs by post this week so you'll propably be getting some next week. ;)
    tomorrow my interview...
