I love skating and now remember why
Yesterday evening was really great. I had probably the most fun since the Nada Surf concert. I finally went to one of those skatenights. 30km on skates all around the city on the roads. On the autobahns too. I think I've never skated so much and so fast. Didn't even get tired really. Or I did but not like very tired and mostly just because it was nine thirty when we finished and usually by that time I'm in bed reading a book. It took us like 2 hours to do the route so with the pauses we must have been going at least 20km/h for most of the way. That's quite fast. I could not stop grinnig while skating. It was fun not having to look too much where I was going but to just go where they led us. I think there must have been like 200 people skating or at least it felt like it. The heel of my braking foot started aching at the end but it's ok today. I thought I might get a gigantic blister but luckily I didn't. Otherwise I'm only feeling the exercise a bit today. I might be walking funny (though I usually probably do anyway). There's a similar happening across the river in a week and I think I will go and then again in two weeks on this side of the river. I hope it doesn't rain on either day. I'm really looking forward to them. Skating is so great. I'd almost forgotten with not having done much of it for the past couple of years.
I even went swimming on tuesday. It was nice. The water was not too cold and the sun was shining nicely and going in the water to just float on my inflatable matress after work was very relaxing. The weekend should be good weather wise so I think I'll want to go swimming again as long as I get some company.
Today is this meeting of finnish people who live in the area. I'm going there though it is sort of funny to come to Germany to meet finnish people. But it should be nice. We are going to a restaurant so I'll get some proper food hopefully. Looking forward to that.
So when is everyone coming here? I've promised to dog-sit for a couple of weekends so those will be taken though a friend or family member of mine coming here is more important. When I do dog-sit I'll have internet for the whole weekend. And an oven. It should be nice. So most likely on the weekend of the 6th of october I'll be online. Cool. I can check out all the sites on the internet I don't want to visit at work and get to chat to people or at least hopefully unless people start avoiding me. Uh oh, I can also post pictures. The dogs should also stop me from sitting in front of my computer all day so no worries there.
Gotta go. Or don't have to but want to.
