Becoming a Crystallographer

This is the blog of a future crystallographer, not that crystallography is the main area of discussion. I'll maybe mention it once in a while, while writing about my life and other things.

Over the river and...

Yesterday was the first German lesson. I did fine with sentence structure but when it came to articles I was totally lost. But how am I supposed to know which word is feminine, masculine or neutral. Also would help if I remembered where to use the different forms and such. But I guess I should do fine on the course. I am not stupid after all though it has been a long time since I studied languages.

Kim's fastfood was also a good choice. They had changed the order of the menu so I was sort of lost looking for the fried noodles but eventually found the number. Next time I go there I will have to try something else. They have like 8 or so vegetarian options. But today I think I'll go have some lentil soup in a Turkish place though those a way more scary to go into. A person has to eat though.

I bought 2 books yesterday. Also a dictionary and the book for the German course. I'm not sure my system of choosing books is that wise in a way. I pick the longest ones. The more pages for my money the better. This time I got one Brittish singles book and one fantasy book by this author of the trilogy Maria sent me to read. There will be more books in the fantasy series so as long as I can find them in the book stores I should be set for quite a long time. That is if I even have time to read anymore with 3 nights of my week in German classes. I'm sort of stressed about that already though that is mostly because I'm supposed to be maybe going to Prague this weekend (a long one since monday and tuesday are off) and I have no time to plan a thing and I'm not sure the other people will appreciate that. And I want to plan since I have no intention of sleeping in train stations or anything of that sort. And the point being that I also want to sleep. Oh I am stressed about the trip (I don't really want to go to Prague since it's far and I've been there, though that was in the winter, but what else am I going to do for 4 days.). Time just goes by so fast. Like now I have to get going if I want to have time to eat.

Trips as always good, and broaden perspective on life. Hope you have fun :)

So what kind of people are there at the German lessons? And is the teacher nice? Wasn't there some rules to determine the articles? Like if it ends with r its masculine. I dunno. ;)
Good luck with the planning of the trip. Remember, if you wanna save money, no tablecloths in a restaurant means cheap (beer). :)
    Soon coffee break time... finally.
